In context
Its unit is K/W or °C/W; a larger value gives a larger temperature difference for the same heat flow. Specify the start and end points and measurement or boundary conditions.
Example
In a simple steady-state model, 20 W passing through a 0.5 K/W path produces a temperature difference of 10 K. This does not mean every actual package has only this single path.
Key distinction
Read a thermal resistance value together with the two points it connects and the associated conditions.
