Segmentation Leakage
Segmentation leakage occurs when background or neighboring structures outside the measurement target are incorrectly included in the target region.
In context
ROIs, thresholds, and connectivity conditions may inflate area or shape. Check segmentation results overlaid on the original image.
Example
If designed vias are included in a QFN void mask, reconsider both the denominator and numerator.
Key distinction
Check which pixels entered the calculation instead of comparing numbers alone.
