Process stability
Process stability means that the pattern of variation remains consistent over time under defined conditions and within the observation scope.
Other learning contexts (4)
In context
Examine dispersion and time patterns as well as the mean. Stability is a judgment based on data obtained so far and monitoring methods, not a permanent guarantee.
Example
Even if hourly results remain between 98 and 102 g, low values early and high values later should not be called stable merely because they are within the range.
Key distinction
State the period, sampling plan, and applicable signal rules when discussing stability.
